The Kenya Police salaries like any profession are based on the ranks, years of service and education levels of the officers. Before the 2010 Kenyan constitution banned strikes by officers in uniform, the police were among the civil servants known to down their tools so as to picket, pushing for salary increments. The police play a very vital role in the security of the country, and in view of this, their salaries were in 2015 increased by 100%. The increments, as per the new structure, were to be spread in four phases and the police would earn the following salaries.
